My partner wants me to do some EDI testing. Do I have to?

Once you have set up a Trade Request, identified the Transactions you will trade and the Communication Channel you will send and receive messages on if your partner is the leader, they will want you to do some testing with them.

Generally, testing represents real use cases. So, testing is important as it ensures that you know how to create transactions before trading live transactions. You can likely expect that your partner will want to send you a test 850 purchase order that will have your real products but only few units. They are not expecting you to fulfill this order but instead prove to them that you can receive and acknowledge the order, and send back other EDI documents like the 856 ASN or the 810 Invoice.
