What to expect when Orderful is responsible for Testing and Go live

This article walks you through what to expect during the Managed Testing Outreach process at Orderful. Whether you’re starting fresh or adding new trading partners, this guide will help you understand your role, what we’ll handle, and how we’ll work together.

Overview: How the Process Works

Here’s a high-level view of how things flow:

  • Pre-contract – You meet with Sales to align on goals
  • Contract signed – We set up your Orderful organization
  • You submit trade requests - Here's how
  • We reach out to your partners and test connections
  • Kickoff call – We go over the details
  • You go live! 🎉
  • Ongoing support from our team

Key Things to Know

It’s a Team Effort
We’ll lead the technical work, but your involvement is critical. Think of this as a partnership — we’ll go faster and smoother if we stay aligned.

What You’ll Need to Do
Assign a point of contact (POC): One person to oversee the project and one technical contact who understands your current setup.

Share access: Provide any credentials and files we need for requirements and testing.

Stay responsive: Quick decisions and escalations help us keep moving.

Identify your trading partners: Tell us which ones you trade with and what platforms they use before the kickoff.

Timelines & Delays
We aim to meet deadlines — but some things (like partner responsiveness) are out of our hands. If there are delays, we’ll let you know ASAP.

Off-Platform Testing
If a trading partner doesn’t test on Orderful and needs a separate setup:

  • You’ll need to approve it via email.
  • You’re responsible for any testing fees they require.

Kickoff Call

Once trade requests are submitted, we’ll schedule a kickoff meeting. Here’s what happens:

  • You’ll need your technical person on the call.
  • We’ll go over each trade request and check for missing or incorrect data.

We’ll figure out:

  • Your migration plan (e.g., silent migration, VAN usage)
  • What partner-specific details we still need (like test files or credentials)

Partner Outreach & Testing

Once we’ve reviewed your trade requests, we’ll reach out to your trading partners. Here’s how it works:

  • We contact your partners via email or portal and include you on our outreach tickets
  • We follow up if we don’t hear back from them
  • We escalate issues to you if needed

Then:

  • Our Network Engagement team sets up your partner connections
  • An Onboarding Architect tests and validates everything.

You go live once your partners start sending real transactions.

After Go-Live

Once you’re live, we don’t disappear.

  • Live = Your first real production order through Orderful
  • Our Customer Success (CS) team will monitor activity and provide ongoing support as per your agreement.
