GS1 Prefix and Barcodes

Retailers often require SSCC Barcode's on the carton and pallet labels you ship to them in order to track the unique contents of the carton without opening the box. They do this by referencing the 856 EDI document you send them in advance of the inventory arriving at their facility. Orderful creates these barcodes for you when you generate labels using our label service.

The GS1 Company Prefix is a unique number that will identify your company as the owner of your barcode and the product it’s on. The GS1 Company Prefix is a part of every barcode you will create.
